Suitable for both totally standard road cars and autotest 'specials', driving skill and judgment is the name of the game in autotesting. The driver has to negotiate a series driving tests which involve changing direction, manoeuvring around cones and coping with other obstacles using both forward and reverse gears, often with more than occasional use of the hand brake ! all against the clock, usually on a smooth tarmac surface. Tyre choice is of the utmost importance in this type of event - don't use new ones !
Two autotest events are run every year, both events are part of the highly competitive North East of Scotland motor club group championship.

It is necessary to recognise that other events contained within the 2008 Overall Championship are more competitive, by reason of greater number of entries per class and therefore merit a greater number of points awarded per event. It is possible, for various reasons, that the above dates may be altered. Should this prove necessary, alternative dates will be published on the club website and in Pace.
